carrots…ok maybe I can like them
I have a love hate relationship with carrots. I like them in things such as soups or casseroles but I am not a huge fan of them on their own, that is until now. I decided it was time to create a carrot recipe that I would love and what a better time than Easter to fall in love with these cute little veggies. Carrots, Carrots and Carrots The first choice was to decide between the long beautiful ones or the cute little baby ones, and to help save on time (& some mess) I went with the cute baby version. OK now that I knew which carrots I was going to…

a little sprout for everyone
I was asked the other day why I was inspired to use Sprouts in my name, and I had to laugh. In all my time of blogging no one had ever asked me. As silly as it sounds, I was inspired by brussel sprouts…yes the veggie. Yes that one pictured below. A sprout changed my world About 6 or 7 years ago (I can’t believe it has been that long) The sis-in-law asked me to just try her brussel sprouts. You see I made a promise to her that I would start trying veggies. Prior to this promise I was not a veggie girl and would stay away from them as much…

Mom Dibert’s Corn Casserole
The sis-in-Law’s mom, Cathleen is an amazing cook. Everything I have had from her has been so, so good. She is very well known for her pies, but she is also known for this corn casserole. Bring on the corn When Cathleen said she wanted to bring this casserole to our Early Thanksgiving Pot Luck Dinner I was so excited. I personally LOVE corn casserole, and my brother had told me how good her was so I couldn’t wait to try it. A few days before though she told me she wasn’t sure if she could make it as they were having new floors installed and she didn’t…

Roasted Balsamic Veggie Goodness
Over the last few years I have learned to LOVE veggies. I love them raw, grilled & steamed but my favorite is roasted. And these roasted veggies are my ALL TIME FAVORITE!! Good for you… Now we all know that veggies are a good choice but when you make them extra yummy they become a GREAT choice. The key to make them even better than normal is all in the seasoning. Just a little goes a long way. So with a little extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder and chili powder you can take ordinary and make it extra-ordinary. Since the veggies are loaded with goodness for you splurge…

What are your plans this weekend? Are you taking a little time away? Hanging out with friends and family? Are you grilling? In my house we will be grilling for sure…and who knows what else. Whats on the grill? Are you doing burgers (like these sliders)? How about those fries I posted yesterday? Maybe some BBQ chicken or fish? The possibilities are really endless, including the beginning of a delicious dessert like these grilled pineapples. This last week The Hubby branched out a bit and threw some veggies and sausage links on the grill…and it was AMAZING!! Sausage? The Hubby and I love Costco. We get everything from meat…

couscous like never before
A coucous salad is a must have for me in the summer. Anytime I go to a restaurant that has a couscous side dish option it is always at the top of my list, only behind mac-n-cheese. Why Couscous? First, couscous is little pasta balls. They have a delicious texture and can mixed with a variety of flavors making it a perfect ingredient for almost anything. Couscous is also delicious warm or cold. I served this salad warm the first night and then ate it cold for lunch the next 2 days and it was DELICIOUS either way!! Veggies AGAIN? Yesterday I posted a new favorite grilled recipe…Grilled Veggies. Now…

honey butter corny, corn, corn
It is summer and that means it is time for CORN! It doesn’t matter how… I don’t know about your family but my family eats corn anyway we can. We love boiled corn, corn on the corn, kernel corn, creamed corn and of course popcorn…but my favorite is grilled corn for sure. Grilling makes it even better… Grilling corn on its own, without anything special is amazing…but when you add in some honey butter it becomes even better. I also love how easy grilling corn is. You can throw it on when you put your protein on and it will be done in no time, and you don’t have to heat…
