Key Lime Cookies- The Perfect Spring Treat
Key Lime anything is a must have this Spring… and according to the calendar it should start warming up soon. That means it is time to celebrate that cute little green fruit! Key Lime Cookies for the Win! Pie is what most people, including myself, think of when they hear “key lime” but that is changing. Don’t get me wrong I love a good key lime pie, but they are also more involved to make. These cookies literally come together in about 15 minutes and are ready to indulge in within a hour. No chilling, no wait time to set up… mix, bake, ice and eat. DONE! Yes… you can…

Everything Bagel Dip
Everything Bagel Dip is everything you love about your favorite everything bagel but without the bagel… I know cheesy. Thank you Trader Joes! If you have followed me for long I am sure you know I have a special place in my heart for Trader Joes. I love their flowers, their produce, their spices, seasonal offerings and of course their wine. As for their spices though my favorite (behind their pumpkin spice blend which is AMAZING) is their Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning. It is loaded with onion, sea salt, garlic and sesame seeds. If you do not have a TJ’s close to you I highly suggest you order…

S’mores Brownies
S’mores are a must make for me each summer. Growing up we would have them every July 4th at my grandparents farm and I just fell in love with them, and even now as an adult I crave them when it gets hot outside. There is one problem though, I do not live on a farm and I don’t camp so to still enjoy a favorite treat I decided to make them into a brownie…yes S’mores Brownies! It’s all about the layers I just love the combo of graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallow. For these brownies it starts with the graham cracker crust…it is golden brown, buttery and…

Summer Bucket List FUN
Happy First Day of Summer!! I cannot believe how fast this year is going. It feels like Christmas was just yesterday. Because the year is flying by I have made a commitment to enjoy the summer with my friends and family. Slow down a bit and try and knock off as much as I can off this bucket list. A little something for everyone… Fun inside and out Being from SE Texas where it is 100% humid all the time and can rain one minute and be sunny the next I made sure to have activities that are perfect for inside and out. I love getting out as much as…

a summer must…homemade chimichurri sauce
I am a sucker for sauces. I love them on almost any dish…heck I love sauces on really anything. Literally I love a good hollandaise for breakfast, and nice pesto for lunch and something like this Chimichurri for dinner (or anytime of the day). And it is so pretty I first fell in love with Chimichurri Sauce when I went to one of my favorite restaurants ever…Americas. It is the way cool Latin American inspired steak house. As you sit down they bring you crispy plantain chips with a light chimichurri sauce, the two pair so well together. Trust me I could fill up on just those as I drink…

A new way to sundae
Confession time…I never once had a traditional strawberry shortcake until I was in my 20’s. Growing up my mom and grandmothers made their own version of “shortcake” with pie crust. Yep you read that right…pie crust. It is all about the crust My dad’s most favorite dessert is crust and strawberries. It is really as simple as it sounds….it is pie crust topped with chopped strawberries. The key is the super flaky and very tender pie crust, and how we cut it. Trust me this will change how you think about pie crust! Double duty crust recipe My MeeMaw and Mom have been using this recipe for both these…

The ULTIMATE Rice Krispies
My brother, James, is a HUGE fan if Rice Krispie treats. So much so that that is all he asks for when his birthday rolls around. I am, of course, more than happy to make them because he has to be one the hardest people in the world to buy for. If rice krispie treats make him happy I am in. Family Affair My brother has now got my nephew loving rice krispie treats as well. Truth be told I love to make Wesley just about anything so rice krispie treats are becoming quite the regular treat around our houses. Taking it to the next level Me being me I…
