Your Morning Just Got a Ton Better
So for the last several months I have been thinking about trying to make homemade cinnamon rolls. My brother and sister-in-law have been asking me to make them, but dealing with yeast scared me so I just kept putting it off. That is I put it off until Christmas morning. It is all about patience Homemade cinnamon rolls are 1000% better than the canned version, but beware you have to plan ahead. You need several hours (I started the process the night before) to let the dough proof and get ready to roll up into rolls. SO what is proofing you ask? Proofing is when you let the dough…

Are you going out with a big group of friends? Maybe staying home with the family? Are you throwing a get together with your neighbors? Well whatever you might be doing this queso would be a great addition. A classic at home… A few months ago I was fishing at my Godparents house and their niece Shannon came down for a fishing tournament we were in. Well, little did I know, but she is my sister from…

It’s more than just a gingerbread man
This past weekend I got to watch my niece and nephew for a night and making cookies was on the menu for sure. Not too long ago I was at World Market and found this great pack of sprinkles that had a little bit of everything from cinnamon dots to metallic sprinkles and everything in between. My little helper is the BEST EVER Anytime I can get my nephew or niece into the kitchen to help it is so much fun. Wes had made gingerbread cookies at school the previous week and he wanted to show me how to do it, so I got him right up on the counter…

I could eat these everyday
I think if I could only eat one thing for the rest if my life it might just be mashed potatoes. I LOVE THEM that much, especially this new mashed potato recipe. Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. They are loaded with tons a flavor, they are rich and creamy. It’s a family thing My MeeMaw LOVED mashed potatoes. I mean she LOVED, LOVED them. She loved them so much she always said she wanted to be buried in them. She was not buried in them, but she did really love them. Her mashed potatoes were very classic with a little sour cream added in for a little extra something, and now I have taken…

One Pan Harvest Dinner = Dinner TONIGHT
It is time to celebrate everything Fall & Harvest. Thanksgiving is a few weeks away, the weather is cooler, boots are a part of our everyday wardrobe, pumpkin spice is everywhere and sweaters are back in the rotation. This is hands down my most favorite time of year. Speaking of Pumpkin Spice Pumpkin spice is not just for your lattes or pumpkin bread…it is perfect on veggies and chicken. Yes I said veggies and chicken. I know that may not sound normal or even that good, but it really, really is so good. It adds a little something extra to make it perfect for Fall. It has just the perfect…

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice
I cannot believe it is already November 1st! This year has flown by…before we know it we will be thawing out the turkey and making cranberry sauce. As fun as that will be I am still all about everything pumpkin spice and these cookies are all I can think about right now. A simple but perfect cookie These simple butter cookies are a favorite of my family. This is the only cookie he ever asks me for. You can check out the original recipe here. As much as I love the original version I wanted to update it a little for fall, and pumpkin spice was the only option I…

Jump into the Fall Bucket List
I cannot believe we are already half way through October and Fall is in full swing and that means it is time for some Fall Bucket List Fun. In my part of the world the temperature outside is not reflecting Fall but I know for the rest of the country there are brisk mornings and cool evenings that everyone is enjoying. We did get to experience that for a few days but the humidity has found its way back to us. The Bucket List Each Fall I try to get out and so some things that we don’t get to do the rest of the year and this…

Roasting it makes it so much better
I am so excited the weekend is here. Fall is starting to filter in, baseball playoffs are getting exciting and football is what the weekends are all about. To make this weekend something to remember you have to try this Roasted Salsa Verde. Green is better (in my opinion) My favorite salsa has always been a green salsa. I love the hint of tang the tomatillos bring with a little heat and freshness of lime in each bite. I judge Mexican food restaurants by their green sauce. If I want to pour it all over anything and everything then it is a good restaurant. Roasting is the…
