• I bet you can’t eat just one

This just might be one of the easiest ( & most favorite) cookie recipes I have ever made.  They are so good I even got some of the healthiest people I know to eat them all up, leaving the kids with just a few.  OK, let me explain. For the kids (I thought) We were having a fun BBQ and get together with some sweet friends and their kids at my brother and sis-in-laws house.  Honestly as much as I am over there we should just start calling it my second home.  Anyway my brother was going to grill and I told them I would bring dessert.  The trick to…

  • My new FAVORITE Brookie

Ever since Brookies came onto the scene a few years back I have been LOVING them.  There is just something so yummy about bringing together 2 of my favorites, brownies and chocolate chip cookies. A little something extra As much as I love the traditional brookie I wanted to add in a little something extra…some caramel.  Now I could have just used some salted caramel sauce or caramel candy but I thought rolo’s would really put these brookies over the top. The rolo candy not only adds in a little caramel but also an extra bit of chocolate making these brookies truly something to remember.   Even the batter looks…

  • no rollin here for these sugar cookies…

Summer is here.  The kids are almost out of school (or maybe they already are) and that means it is time to BAKE!  What do you like to bake int he summer…how about cookies?  How about no roll sugar cookies?  OK perfect…lets start there!! I just love the light texture of the cookie with the sweet frosting that is colored in all the best summer colors…or any colors you want. No rolling here The one problem I have with frosted sugar cookies though is that most of them require you to refrigerate them, then roll them out, then bake them, let them cool then finally frost them.  Now I understand that they are totally…

  • Cookies and Dinosaur fun for all (but mainly Wesley)

One of my favorite things in the whole wide world is that my Niece & Nephew call me Chelle Chelle.  Another favorite thing is baking for my 2 favorite little people…so when I kept them last week baking was defiantly in the plan … DINOSAUR cookies to be specific. I mean just look how cute he is!!  Bring on the Sprinkles…DINOSAUR Sprinkles My nephew is all about dinosaurs.  We walk like them, growl like them and even eat like them.  So, when I saw dinosaur sprinkles (you can get yours here) I knew I had to have them…I mean for my nephew, of course. As I said, one of the things on our…

  • this ain’t your normal sugar cookie

Sugar cookies are my mom’s favorite cookie.  She would eat them everyday, if I made them for her everyday.  Thankfully for her I don’t…or her time at the gym would be a lot more than it is right now. Time for something new My Mom is not the only one who loves sugar cookies though.  I am also a HUGE fan so when I was at one of my favorite  cooking store (Sur La Table) and saw these cookie stamps I knew it was time to make these shortbread sugar cookies.  Since I was going to be using a new technique I decided to use a new recipe. I have…

  • chocolate cookies for the chocolate lovers…

There is just something so sweet about a thumbprint cookie.  Growing up my mom would buy the shortbread ones with the cutest little chocolate center, and then sometimes she would make a peanut butter cookie with a chocolate kiss in the center so for this Valentines Day I wanted to make a chocolate cookie version. Chocolate, please I am all about chocolate anything and this chocolate cookie with a chocolate kiss in the center is a perfect chocolate treat and an even more perfect treat for Valentines Day. To make these cookies decadent I used dark cocoa powder for added richness, buttermilk for a little tang and tartness (which I love in a cookie),…

  • a twist on a sugar cookie

I love cookies.  Chocolate chip cookies, shortbread cookies, brownie cookies, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies…really ANY cookie.   A few weeks ago I decided to bring 2 of my favorites together into one delicious cookie and make a Peanut Butter Sugar Cookie. A little something for everyone Each fall The Hubby takes some of his customers little yummies with calendars from his company.  This year he wanted cookies to give out.  He asked for his favorite chocolate chip cookies (recipe will be posted soon) and also for a peanut butter cookie. Well I couldn’t give him 2 traditional cookies, so I decided to change up the peanut butter cookie a little, don’t…

  • a S’more isn’t just for camping…

S’mores are a favorite of mine.  I love the combo of graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows…it is summer in a  bite. NO campfire needed… One of the hardest parts of having s’more is they are traditionally cooked over a campfire, or at least a flame of some sort, but the beauty of these s’mores is that you don’t need a fire of any kind. It is COOKIE time! Getting the fun started… Every good s’more is loaded with graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows and now they are mixed into a cookie.  This chocolate chip cookie recipe is balanced perfectly with white sugar and brown sugar.  There is also the perfect amount of butter and salt making…

  • celebrate with cookies

The 4th of July is just around the corner (like next week) and these cookies are a perfect way to celebrate!! These are not just chocolate chip cookies? So what makes these so special?  Simple, pudding.  Yes there is pudding mix in the cookies, making them super moist and tender and oh so good!! The pudding also adds another layer of vanilla goodness giving these cookies something people will remember. Sprinkles everywhere! To make these already delicious cookies even more fun I threw in some sprinkles.  Now you could use any sprinkles you have on hand, but I went with red, white and blue for the upcoming Holiday.  Not only…

  • double the peanut butter goodness

Peanut butter cookies are a must make for the summer (at least in my family).  The Hubby loves them, the Dad loves them and my Mammaw loves them.   A good peanut butter cookie to me is soft in the center, crispy on the edges and dusted with sugar giving each  a bit of extra sweetness and a little crunch.  These cookies are all that a little more…I added in some peanut butter chips for an extra bit of peanut butter goodness.  They are so easy! One of my favorite things about these peanut butter cookies is the fact that you can mix them up and bake them immediately…no chilling…
