Santa’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Cookies are a must make for all the time, but especially during the Holiday Season. These Santa’s Chocolate Chip Cookies are always at the top of my list.
A little bit for Everyone
For me a good chocolate chip cookie is a little crispy on the edges, soft in the center and loaded with tons of chocolatey goodness. My families favorite chocolate chip cookies are these, but let me tell you after they have these cookies they might just change their minds.
Not only are these cookies crispy and soft but they are also loaded with tons of yummy. First I used semi-sweet chocolate chunks and then I threw in some white chocolate chips. For some extra color I added in some holiday sprinkles and and M&M’s.
Depending on the season you can use colored sprinkles and M&M’s for the holiday, such pastels for Spring/Easter or fun super bright colors for summer. The possibilities are truly endless.
Chilling is a Must
Trust me I am a BIG fan of cookies recipes that do not have to be chilled but chilling is a must for these cookies. Since we are using melted butter, which helps with the crispy edges, it needs time in the refrigerator to set up so the cookies don’t spread too much.
One of the best parts of these cookies is how thick and chewy they are which happens when you chill the dough. I scoop the dough out and then freeze the balls, it makes it super easy to bake… just put the dough balls on the cookie sheet and bake. See … sooooo easy!
The hardest choice… which sprinkles
I am a sprinkle fanatic. I alway look at the holiday sprinkle selections when I go to the grocery store or the kitchen specialty stores like Williams Sonoma or Sur la Table.
In my cabinet I have sprinkles for every season, every holiday, really any occasion. For these cookies I went with the some of the most festive Christmas ones I have and I love how it turned out.
