  • Gingerbread Cookies

UPDATE – This Gingerbread Cookie post is from several years ago but I just love the pics, and the memories and everything about it so I just had to repost it.  I also love Gingerbread cookies so there is that too. ************************************************************************ This past weekend I got to watch my niece and nephew for a night and making cookies was on the menu for sure.  Not too long ago I was at World Market and found this great pack of sprinkles that had a little bit of everything from cinnamon dots to metallic sprinkles and everything in between. My little helper is the BEST EVER Anytime I can get my…

  • Iced Sugar Cookies

These Classic Iced Sugar Cookies are a MUST MAKE.  They are super tender, topped with a delicious icing with hints of vanilla bean in each bite and fun sprinkles.  A perfect cookie for any Holiday or Special Occassion. No rolling here One of the things that annoys me about sugar cookies is having to roll them out.  Rolling pins and I don’t have the best relationship.  I tend to roll things too thin, or not thin enough…it just never seems to be right.  With these cookies though there is no rolling…that is one of the reasons why I love these cookies. I also love how tender they are.  Not so…

It all starts with the seasoning Having a good crust on a prime rib is everything and this recipe gives you a great crust but with just a few ingredients.  To make the rub it is just Montreal Steak Seasoning and some extra pepper and that’s all.  Seriously, it is all we use and just look at that crust! If you do not have Montreal steak seasoning you can use any all purpose seasoning you have, I highly recommend a course seasoning though for a pretty…

  • A Christmas Tradition

Christmas is just around the corner and I think I am going to have to make these again.  Don’t be scared…you can do this. It is all about Christmas patience Homemade cinnamon rolls are 1000% better than the canned version, but beware you have to plan ahead.  You need several hours (I started the process the night before) to let the dough proof and get ready to roll up into rolls.    SO what is proofing you ask?  Proofing is when you let the dough rise.  For this dough we are wanting it to rise, or proof, quite a bit.  The goal is at least double from its original size.…
