• Cinnamon Roll Bites – Your New Go-To Breakfast

Cinnamon Roll Bites are the perfect Christmas morning breakfast.  They are quick, easy and bring the wonderful aroma of homemade cinnamon rolls (like these) without all the work. It all starts with Biscuits… These delicious cinnamon roll bites start with canned biscuits.  Yep, you read that right… canned biscuits.  That is what makes this recipe so easy, you cut up canned biscuits.  I used the grands buttermilk biscuits, but you could use whatever you have on hand.   PS…Flaky biscuits would be pretty good I bet. Let’s talk Cinnamon & Sugar (& few little something extras) Growing up I ate A LOT of cinnamon toast and these Cinnamon Roll Bites…

  • Classic Iced Sugar Cookies

These Classic Iced Sugar Cookies are a MUST MAKE this Holiday Season.  They are super tender, topped with a delicious icing with hints of vanilla bean in each bite and fun sprinkles.  A perfect Holiday treat. No rolling here One of the things that annoys me about sugar cookies is having to roll them out.  Rolling pins and I don’t have the best relationship.  I tend to roll things too thin, or not thin enough…it just never seems to be right.  With these cookies though there is no rolling…that is one of the reasons why I love these cookies. I also love how tender they are.  Not so fragile they…

  • Santa’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cookies are a must make for all the time, but especially during the Holiday Season.  These Santa’s Chocolate Chip Cookies are always at the top of my list. A little bit for Everyone For me a good chocolate chip cookie is a little crispy on the edges, soft in the center and loaded with tons of chocolatey goodness.   My families favorite chocolate chip cookies are these, but let me tell you after they have these cookies they might just change their minds. Not only are these cookies crispy and soft but they are also loaded with tons of yummy.  First I used semi-sweet chocolate chunks and then I threw…

  • Cranberry Shortbread Bars – A Holiday Treat

Cranberry Shortbread Bars are the perfect Holiday treat!!  They are a little sweet, a little tart and surrounded in a buttery shortbread… it doesn’t get much better! Cranberry Goodness in each Bite I have always been a BIG, BIG fan of cranberries.  I love them dried and use them in lots of recipes, such as this Pumpkin Cranberry Pistachio Bread, but I also love fresh ones.   There is just something about the tartness in each cranberry but then also the burst of sweet flavor you get at the same time.  I use fresh cranberries each Thanksgiving for my Spiced Cranberry Sauce but I also love, love them in pastry.…

  • Sausage Dressing – Thanksgiving Must

Sausage Dressing is hands down our families favorite dressing.  How do I know??  After 4 dressings, a blind taste test and an overwhelming vote… the winner has been named!!  At least one election is for certain in 2020. Changing a Texas Girl’s World  Being a good Texas girl I grew up eating cornbread dressing every Thanksgiving.  The very traditional version of cornbread with onions, celery, and cornbread.  My mom would bake the cornbread days in advance and prep anything she could to make her cornbread dressing.   This Texas girls life was changed though a couple of years ago, I was introduced to bread and sausage dressing and it changed…

Cranberry Crumb Muffins are a new favorite of mine… yes a FAVORITE!!  Trust me when you try these you will love them too! It is Cranberry Season! I am a big, big cranberry fan.  I love dried one, fresh ones, frozen ones, cranberries in drinks, cranberries in bread, muffins, cookies.  Really in most anything.  I just love cranberries. I love the tartness but also the hint of sweet in each bite.  They add just the right little something that makes everything you put them in a little more special.  And yes, you can use cranberries in more than just the sauce at Thanksgiving.  So Much Cranberry! For this recipe I…

  • Salted Caramel Brownies… YES PLEASE

Salted Caramel Brownies make me happy… like giddy happy.   I have tried several recipes and all are good (like these) but this is the BEST in my opinion. Caramel Yumminess… Salted Caramel is a must in my life.  I love it on ice cream, poured over cheesecake, dip fruit in it and of course drizzle into super fudgy and delicious brownie batter.  There is just something about chocolate and caramel together. I usually make my own salted caramel sauce but for these brownies I used this Salted Caramel Sauce.  I love it because it is thick and super creamy, and holds up well as it is baked.  You can…

  • I am Thankful for my Career

My dream career started almost 2 years a go.  After my dad passed away and I took time to get everything settled for mom and I, it was time for me to decided what this new chapter was going to look like.  Little did I know what an adventure it would be. Why Health Insurance? I get asked all the time why I jumped into the health insurance world.  Honestly it was some luck and a desire to help others.   I will share more about my dad and his journey next week, but in short he was sick for a long time.  Through his years of being ill I…

Baked Potato Soup is a must in my house in the Fall and this recipe is super easy and SUPER YUMMY! Baked Potato Soup LOVE! Is there anything better than a big pot of soup on the stove on a cool Fall day?  I just don’t think there is.  This Baked Potato Soup is the perfect crowd pleasing dinner.   This soup was first introduced to me by a great friend.  Years and years ago she sent me the recipe and said I would love it and she was so right.  I have been making this for 20+ years and it hit me the other day that I did not…

  • Honey… So Thankful For Her

Writing about Honey was much harder than I thought it would be.  My mom is my heart and I hope you can see a little bit of that below.     #2 – MY MOM  – aka HONEY There is so much I could say about this AMAZING lady I get to call my mom, but I will try and keep it short. From my earliest of memories my mom has always been a strong, beautiful, outgoing, full of life, eyelash wearing woman that I wanted to be just like.  She showed my brothers and I how to truly love unconditionally (more on that in another post), how to forgive,…
