A slider to remember

bb slider-hSo there has been a ton going on my life lately and sometimes there just doesn’t seem to be the time (or energy) to make a big dinner so instead lets make a little dinner with BIG flavor….Blue Cheese Bacon Slider!

A slider is a favorite for me and The Hubby.  We eat them out and at home.  Sometimes we like just a traditional cheeseburger slider with american cheese, other times we take it up a notch with some grilled onions, a fancier cheese, some veggies and maybe even an egg…but my all time favorite slider is blue cheese with bacon.  There is just something so delicious & yummy about the richness and creaminess of the blue cheese with the bite of salty goodness of the bacon.

So how could I take this great combo to the next level?  Add bacon jam to the slider!!  Yes I said bacon jam.

If you saw my blog yesterday you saw that I made bacon jam and it was a HUGE hit with The Hubby (& family) as we used it on everything from biscuits to grilled cheese, but one of our favorites was definitely these sliders.  Not only was the burger itself AMAZING…but when you top them with bacon jam they became even more AMAZING!

Ingredients

1 lb lean (I used 97/3%) ground beef
1 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
6 slider buns
6 tsp bacon jam (6 slices cooked bacon)
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese

Directions

--To make slider patties--
Preheat outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium heat
In a large bowl combine ground beef, mayonnaise, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper & garlic powder until well combined
Form meat into 6 small patties
Cook sliders for 4-5 minutes on the first side and 3-4 minutes on the second side, making sure to only flip once, or until desired doneness is reached
Remove from heat and let sliders rest for 5 minutes
--To build Bacon & Blue Slider--
Toast buns until just browned
Place one slider on the bottom of each bun
Top each patty with 1 tsp bacon jam (or 1 piece of crumbled bacon)
Then sprinkle each with blue cheese
Top with any additional toppings you prefer - we just like to keep it simple
Serve & ENJOY!!

The combo of the creamy cheese with the sweet & salty jam makes each bite perfect.  If blue cheese is not your thing (and I understand it may not be) feel free to use any cheese your prefer…a little swiss, gruyere or cheddar would be great!

Spring is in full swing so fire up the grill and have a burger night with all your family & friends and make it  something to remember when you make these little sliders topped with BACON JAM!!  Trust me you want to do this!
