• Homemade Oreo Whoopie Pies…YES please

So I am sucker for Oreo Cookies.  There is usually a package of them in my pantry at all times.  I have tried almost every variety but the classic is still my favorite.  What is your favorite? Why make them yourself? I ask, why not?  First, look how cute they are.   Two little pillowy cakes with a  creamy center…I’m in love.  Second, they are DELICIOUS!!  Third, they are SO EASY. Yes, they really are easy.  I know I was surprised too but trust me they are really are so easy. Let’s talk cake The beauty of whoopee pies is that they are a cake and cupcake that had a…

It’s time for a little whoopie…whoopie pie that is I’m sorry I just can’t resist.  It is just too easy.  Ok…I know enough, lets move on. • a little love in the morning

This week is all about love, with it being Valentines Day week and all.  To show a little extra love I am going to be making a favorite, my Brioche French Toast. Making the morning special One of my favorite things to get for breakfast or brunch is french toast.  Anytime there is  Brioche French Toast on the menu I am ordering it.   There is just something so yummy about thick cut bread dipped in a delicious egg mixture and then grilled to perfection. Every time I fix this for The Hubby he always says he feels like we have gone out for brunch in our PJ’s.  Now that is a…

  • a bundt cake to remember

Valentines is one of those Holidays that not only celebrates the love of your life but it also celebrates dessert.  Most typically chocolate desserts are on the menu, but for The Hubby chocolate is not what his heart desires.  He loves caramel anything so I thought to bring two favorites together.  Caramel & Cake.  Can it get any better? Caramel & Bundt = Perfection This year I decided to make a bundt cake. I just love a rich & buttery bundt cake and when paired with caramel it becomes AMAZING!!  I also love how pretty this bundt cake is.   Without any topping at all the cake is already pretty, especially when you use…

  • chocolate cookies for the chocolate lovers…

There is just something so sweet about a thumbprint cookie.  Growing up my mom would buy the shortbread ones with the cutest little chocolate center, and then sometimes she would make a peanut butter cookie with a chocolate kiss in the center so for this Valentines Day I wanted to make a chocolate cookie version. Chocolate, please I am all about chocolate anything and this chocolate cookie with a chocolate kiss in the center is a perfect chocolate treat and an even more perfect treat for Valentines Day. To make these cookies decadent I used dark cocoa powder for added richness, buttermilk for a little tang and tartness (which I love in a cookie),…

  • Super Special Salmon (that comes together in no time)

The Hubby and I LOVE salmon.  We grill it, roast it, spice rub it and anything else in between. And now we have a salmon topped with a delicious sauce that is baked on the salmon making it something truly special. Making it something The Hubby will love Now as much as The Hubby loves salmon he is NOT a fan of mustard.  In most restaurants if salmon has a sauce paired with it, it is normally a mustard sauce of some sort and The Hubby is not a happy camper. As a special treat I decided to create a restaurant style salmon that The Hubby will love….so off I went on a…

  • have I mentioned I LOVE pink velvet?

Valentines is one of my most favorite holidays…it has lots of chocolate, pink, and hearts everywhere…what could be better?  OK, now I know Christmas has it’s beauty as well, but there is just something so special about all the pink & red hearts and celebrating love.  BTW…it is also my Mammaw’s birthday so it is a special day just for that…and it calls for these pink velvet cupcakes for sure. In my world Valentines Day is all about pink everything and these pink velvet cupcakes are AMAZING!  Not only is the cupcake itself pink but I also tinted the icing making it a darker pink than the cupcake…giving it the perfect…
